Reset Device After Network Account Removed

  1. 1. After you have been notified by EIT that your device has been removed, EIT recommends you perform a “Reset with Data”.  

  1. 2. Be sure your device is connected to power 

  1. 3. Login to the device using the administrator account. (Use new administrator account if you set up a new user account for your device)  

  1. 4. Click <Start Menu> 

  1. 5. Click <Settings> 

  1. 6. Click <Update & Security> 

  1. 7. Click <Recovery> from left navigation pane 

  1. 8. Click <Get started> under “Reset this PC” under Recovery 

  1. 9. Click <Keep my files> 

  1. 10. Click <Local reinstall> 

  1. 11.  Confirm the settings: 

    1. Restore apps and settings which came with this PC 

      Reinstall Windows from this device 
  2.  
  1. 12. Under “Ready to reset this PC”, ensure “Keep personal files” is indicated under “Resetting will:” 

  1. 13.  Click <Reset> This will take over an hour 

  1. 14.  After device reboots login to device using the administrator account 

  1. 15.  Your device is now removed from RHIT and ready for personal use
