Service Changes

  • Access to Rose-Hulman resources will be removed upon graduation or departure from the Institute. In order to have access to your laptop and data related to your RHIT profile you must complete the steps below PRIOR to your account expiration date
  • Alumnus email storage capacity reduces to 50 GB upon conversion to alumni status.
  • When the RHIT license for MS Office is removed from the account, MS Office will prompt the user to either purchase a new license key or enter a license key they have already purchased.
  • Graduating student accounts are converted to an alumnus account during the summer months following graduation.

“To Do” Items

Perform these steps PRIOR to account expiration date:

1. Verify that you can access a local administrator account on your laptop. This can be your existing localmgr account or a local account you create. For information on creating a local account see how to create local administrator account.

2. Relocate any important data in your profile and OneDrive.  You will no longer be able to access this data when your RHIT user account is deactivated. For information on re-locating data see transfer data to new user.  Students leaving RHIT for reasons other than graduation, must submit a service request to inform EIT that steps 1. and 2. have been completed.

3. 24 hours after your account expiration date, perform a system reset to remove the RHIT image from your laptop. For information on performing a system reset see remove RHIT image from device
