Physical Transmission of Account Slips
**Staff, On-Campus Affiliates, Graduate Students, and Undergraduate Students (outside the admissions batch process)**
  • Pick up a hard copy account slip from the EIT Service Desk.
    • User produces a picture ID to receive credentials

Digital Transmission of Account Slips
**Incoming Freshman, Transfer students, and Summer Program students**
  • Processed through Admissions and Administrative Systems using a batch process. 
  • Account credentials and instructions for self-service password reset are loaded to the Slate portal for student access.

**Remote Affiliates**

  • Systems sends an email to the Affiliate’s personal email address instructing the user to use multi-factor authentication (passwordreset.mircosoftonline.com) utilizing their personal email address to set their password.  
  • The case owner, the Affiliate Sponsor, receives notice that the account has been created.  

**Faculty Credentials**
  • Systems sends an email to the new user's personal email address instructing the user to use multi-factor authentication (passwordreset.mircosoftonline.com) utilizing their personal email address to set their password.   The case owner (Human Resources) will receive notice that the credentials have been shared.
**Exchange Students (through Global Engagement)**
  • Systems sends an email to the user's personal email address instructing the user to use multi-factor authentication (passwordreset.mircosoftonline.com) utilizing their personal email address to set their password.   The case owner (Global Engagement) will receive notice that the credentials have been shared.
**Other Users**
  • Students may contact the service desk and ask for credentials to be shared digitally in advance of physical arrival on campus. 
  • Staff and on-campus affiliates must contact Human Resources to request early access to account credentials.
    • The Service Desk will ask users to verify one of the following data items: personal email address, cell phone number, or Banner ID before credentials are distributed via their personal email.
If user CANNOT verify this information, EIT Service Desk will direct the user to Human Resources, Registrar’s Office, Graduate Studies, or Global Programs as appropriate
