There are multiple reasons your laptop may not connect to eduroam. Here are some of the primary reasons:

1. The MAC address for your device is not registered. To register your device for use on the Rose-Hulman network, see the following knowledgebase article:

OR

2. You have invalid cached account credentials that were previously used to log into the network. These credentials need to be removed from your system.

To remove the credentials on a Windows operating system, follow these steps:
    1. For Windows 10:  click the network symbol on the taskbar
    2. Select eduroam
    3. Right click eduroam
    4. Select forget
    5. Select eduroam
    6. Select connect
    7. You’ll be prompted for Credentials, enter full email (username@rose-hulman.edu) and network password.
    8. Click connect when prompted

Important: EIT recommends removing all stored credentials for any Rose-Hulman network or application.

3. You need to reconfigure your Internet Protocol (IP) settings. Note that this setting sometimes needs to be updated after connecting your laptop to a wireless network other than eduroam.

To reconfigure your Internet Protocol (IP) settings on a Windows operating system, follow these steps:
    1. Open Network Settings.
                        2.  Click Change adapter options
                        3.  Right Click on Wireless Network Connection.
                        4.  Then click Properties.  You may be prompted to input administrator credentials (.\localmgr).
                        5.  A new window will open.  Double click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP /IPv4).
                        6.  Another window will open.  Ensure the following two radio buttons (circles) are selected:

                            -Obtain an IP address automatically
                            -Obtain DNS server address automatically

                         7.  Click the OK button in each window to confirm the change.
