Outlook Calendars have the ability to be shared so that others can see our availability.  Private appointments can be created so that certain amounts of time can be blocked off without others being able to view the appointment.  To create a Private Appointment in Outlook Calendar:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click Calendar.
  3. Click the Home Tab.
  4. Click New Appointment.
  5. Type the Subject, Location, Start-Time, End-Time and any Appointment Notes.
  6. Click the Appointment Tab.
  7. Click Private.
  8. Click Save and Close.
  9. The appointment will be displayed on your calendar as a blank box with a lock next to it indicating that you have an appointment but it is private.
