There can be many reasons why laptops will not turn on or will turn off on their own. One reason could be that the mainboard may need replaced. If you are unable to turn on the laptop, check to see that the battery is properly installed. If the battery is installed, check the power adapter to be sure that it is charging the laptop. It may be helpful to back up data on an external hard drive or cloud based storage (One Drive for Business) if the laptop is able to turn on for a period of time.  If the laptop is still unable to turn on or frequently shuts down on its own, you may bring the laptop to the EIT Service Desk.  The Service Desk is open Monday – Friday from 8 am – 5 pm.
